The humimeter FSG is a moisture meter for the rapid determination of the water content of various foods such as: peanuts shelled, unpeeled and roasted, macadamia nuts shelled and unpeeled, spiral noodles, almonds, walnuts shelled and unpeeled. The humimeter FL1 hay moisture meter primarily functions as a hay moisture meter and hay probe. The hay moisture meter FL1 is equipped with a permanently mounted 0.6 metre long hay probe (stick electrode). Our hay moisture meter has been tested by the Vienna University of Technology.

The FL2 moisture meter for hay and straw offers, in addition to its function as hay probe and hay measuring device, a calibration option for special materials. This means that with the permanently installed hay probe, not only the moisture of hay, straw and other dry material can be measured, but also the moisture of numerous special materials such as cellulose, tobacco, alfalfa according to your requirements!

If the water content of hay brought in, e.g. into the haystack, is too high, it can lead to fungal and bacterial growth during storage. These processes release energy in the form of heat, which leads to an increase in temperature inside the haystack.

In the worst case, the temperature inside the hay can rise so much that the hay ignites itself. The operator of the haystack is obliged to strictly monitor the hay stored on a regular basis (fire police regulations). Failure to comply with this duty of supervision can be punished in an emergency as negligent arson. Failure to comply can also lead to loss of insurance cover! The water content of the hay can be measured before it is brought into the hayloft, e.g. on the loader wagon or during drying with the hay probe. In general, a water content of less than 14% is considered harmless. Thus, it can be decided even before storage whether the hay still needs to be post-dried or whether the water content is low enough for safe storage.

The humimeter FLS with its two-metre long lance enables easy control of the moisture content and temperature even in deep layers of the haystack. Through good and regular checks, heat sources or moisture nests can be detected and treated early.

Handling:

Insert the spear vertically or at an angle into the grain in the closed position. By turning the handle, the removal slots open in staggered order from bottom to top. This ensures an absolute average sample over the entire sample length. The spear is open at the back of the handle. The entire sample taken runs out completely. The spear can be easily pulled apart for cleaning through an internal notch in the twist lock.

Function:

Sampling is carried out through a narrow, cassette-like sampling funnel, which has an opening on the upper side. This opening is automatically guided through the material flow (e.g. grain) over the entire width of the downpipe. A correct real sample is taken over the total cross section and not only in the sides or the middle. The sample intervals are adjustable from one sample per 5 sec. to one sample per hour. The switch-on can be controlled automatically, e.g. depending on an elevator or via the control in the central control room. The installation is carried out in downpipes. The deviation from the vertical must not exceed 25°.
